I have one, got it last year and yes..... it was worth the expense.

It reinforced for me, a lot of the information that I had read about regarding metabolism

    For example,
    * your body has longer & higher (calorie) afterburn after weight or interval training than cardio
    * with the information provided by the KiFit, I felt comfortable doing short workout sessions - knowing it was still beneficial
    * seeing the effect of ChaLean Extreme (weight training) on my metabolism ---->>> increased TDEE

    I could go on.... :)

When I got my KiFit I had lost approx 23 pounds.... so I have lost and additional 30 pounds using it.
It's not a HRM, so if you're interested in monitoring your heart rate - it won't do that.

That reminds me, I think my year's subscription has ended - so need to find out how much an additional year costs.

Do you find the supscription worth the money? I've ordered the one with the seperate display so i'll be able to see certain things like cals burned etc on there, and log my food etc on mfp

I was also wondering to anyone who has tried it, did you find the cals you burnt in an average day were close to what MFP estimates?

    Hi,

I am also interested in this. I know a few people have bought the bodymedia fit off ebay in the UK, not sure which is best really? Bodymedia fit i think has something to do with Jillian Michaels i don't think Ki fit will have that.

Maybe the main difference would be with brand names and measurements of food, the actual device is probably the same, although the BM fit has a bluetooth one with an app not sure the Ki fit has this either? Would be interested if anyone has used both devices for a comparison :)

The subscription is worth the money when you first start using it, because you can then get to see your sleeping habits, how much calories you burn during your normal daily activity, etc.

My year's subscription is over in 5 days, and I must admit I haven't used it as much as I used to in the last couple of months... so I'm debating whether to renew it. I also have the display unit...

Oh... the food diary on the KiFit website is crap.... you're much better off logging everything on mfp

MFP doesn't estimate your daily burn, it only offers estimates for different activities.
Also, you need to bear in mind that the total daily burn is from 24 hours (midnight - midnight)

I thought you HAD to have the subscription- even if you had the display.

You can't use the Bodymedia site in the UK if you don't have a UK bank account.
