about barcode scanning - i’ve just had a brainwave (doesn’t happen very often) i’m going to start and cut out barcodes and stick them on an A4 card for things i don’t save packaging for but buy on a weekly/regular basis, and then i can just scan said item as it’s so unbelievably faster than even searching through recent/most used items, which i have discovered does not update between devices anyway. go on some clever person tell me they’ve already thought of it!!

i hope this is only a temporary measure and MFP will eventually have a way of scanned food going my foods or something like that....

I scan my food in once. Then I edit the food so it goes into my foods. That seems to show up on all my devices. Also I get to change the serving size from cups and ounces to grams. The benefit of this is that I don't have to calculate things like 0.375 cups or other silly things, just straight up grams for everything. Works for me.

I do that! I have a small notebook I keep them in, and I added tabs to the side of it that divide the notebook by food group/type for easy finding! Its so handy, and I don't have to worry about keeping the packaging! It works!
