I know diet pills aren't really the best to take because they can cause long term side effect, but I have been using diet pills since I started my weight loss 2 weeks ago. I started at 155lbs, and am currently down to 147lbs. Unfortunately I didnt start this till I had already lost 6 lbs. (hence why ticker doesnt show more than 2 lbs lost)

But I am currently using Slimquick since it is formulated for women. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to good ones to use that are showing results? They really help me curve my appetite and give me the energy I need to keep up with my daughter and exercise, but Im wondering if there is a better one to use?

my guess is you won't get much support for diet pills here.

my suggestion is to eat right and exercise - that should give you all the energy you need. it may take a few weeks to get that effect, but there are no long term side effects of that - except a smaller wardrobe :)

My issue with diet pills is that once you stop taking them, you're back to the way you were in regards to your metabolism and possibly your eating patterns. If you want to lose weight, and more importantly keep it off, you have to make permanent changes.

I've certainly tried a few of them in the past, before I wised up to my currently philosophy. Most of them either made my heart race and gave me the jitters or did exactly the opposite and put me to sleep. In no case did I lose weight I was able to keep off once I stopped taking them. My advice is to save your money, stop feeding the diet pill industry and simply track what you're eating so that you're at a caloric deficit. Yes, it might take a little longer to lose all of the weight you want to lose, but you'll also keep it off much longer and THAT is the goal.
  • Just like the other girl said, you are not going to find much support for diet pills on here. Take it from me personally, I am the walking billboard for fad diets and diet pills. They do NOT work for long term success. I have lost 13 inches and 24 pounds since Jan by watching my calories and exercise. There is no magic formula for weight loss and all that crap is just money down the drain. Would you stand over your trash can and throw dollar bills away? Essentially, that is what you are doing with stuff like that. Also, if they worked, why would there be any fat people?
