I'm doing the Ripped in 30 video and there are a lot of plank exercises... I'm noticing my wrists are pretty much jacked up!! I broke both a few times as a kid. I also notice when I try to do yoga I have the same issues. I can turn my hands around and that helps a little but the traditional hand positions are just about impossible. I know it will get a bit easier as I lose more, but just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

I have bad wrists too. I'm very prone to tendonitis in them if I don't work them daily. The craziest thing that has helped my wrists? Chainmail. I started making chainmail jewelry about 2 years ago, and my wrists have gotten to be so much better. I stopped for a month (ran out of rings and $$$), and got tendonitis again! Still working back up to where I was, but I still don't have much work to do with that.
Otherwise, lifting and yoga and wall pushups have been helping too. Not always easy, sometimes a little painful. Hopefully someone out there has a few more ideas than me!

Thanks... it's kinda funny... the wall push ups and yoga that should strengthen me are the problem because I can't get my hands in the right position without causing too much pain :grumble:

Can you do planks from your elbows instead?

The wall pushups can be quite painful. I built up from doing 5 of each of three "stances." Hand close, thumbs and forefingers touching, hands directly in line with shoulders, and hands wider than shoulders. Fingers always pointing up. These were given to me by a physical therapist the last time I had really bad tendonitis in one of my wrists.

It's easier on your hands/wrists, but more of a challenge on the core. So... sounds like a win-win!
