Only heard of this today for the first time!

Have you tried this? Did it make a big difference to how you feel and your weight loss? :glasses:

Would you mind telling me why you think that?

I heard it on some talk Tony Robbins gave. Got me curious! :ohwell:

Tony Robbins is a very successful motivational speaker not a nutritionist.

Aah, so all the blood tests that showed good results after eating/drinking alkaline is untrue?

Must admit it sounded rather good. :blushing:

EDIT: GAHH I thought you said Atkins, not alkaline. Silly me. Alkaline diet is snake oil.

Atkins is awesome. I lost a bit of weigh and do wonderful on it. Many people will tell you that it will not work and the ONLY way to lose weight is to eat "right" or "healthy", but there is no one diet that does wonders for everyone. What is the definition of healthy any way? What's considered healthy for one individual is very unhealthy for another. For me, low-carb and high fat is certainly the way to go.

Women usually do better on Atkins than men do. Due to differences in endocrinology between the sexes, women metabolize fat as energy much easier than men do. Men metabolize carbs for energy better than many women do. If you're a woman that has PCOS or insulin resistance, you will certainly benefit from Atkins.

I really wish my low carb and reading comprehension thread didn't get locked

ALKALINE..... not ATKINS.....two entirely diffirent things.

Having an alkaline system is all about your insides being at their proper PH level. Which makes sense everything has a proper PH level for optimum function.

With all the junk we put in our bodies on a regular basis it throws the PH levels off.

If we have a proper diet our digestive system will already naturally be alkaline and shouldn' t have to worry too much.

We should be able to keep our bodies healthy but it becomes harder if you have compromised gut function. For instance if you are not absorbing foods really well then you won't be able to absorb the alkaline minerals from your foods. Those alkaline minerals help to deal with the acidity. We are always going to be creating acid in our bodies when we create energy (ATP).
So just fix the gut. Eat your acidifying protein and grain sources but balance them out with heaps of veggies on the plate.

Thanks for all the input/advice. I think I'll add loads more greens but maybe not waste money on green drinks and ph drops! :blushing:
