hi everyone! I need some advice on how to break my fast food habit. It has been my main cause of my weight gain. In the past 8 or so months I have generally been eating it 2 times a day! I guess I am just doing it because I like the taste of it and I have stopped caring about my body and overall health. I really need to stop this addiction i have!!!!!! please help!!!!! thanks!!!!

Try pre-planning&preparing you're meals...it's easier to avoid fastfood with you decide what to eat before you're hungry.

If you can't go cold turkey, then maybe order a small hamburger vs the Big Mac - skip the fries & order a salad to go with it.

    Good Luck

i had ..still kinda ..have the saaame problem! i just try to avoid it at all costs. if i go i get something healthier. i usually get just a drink if i HAVE to go. like i will go to arbys and get a diet blackberry tea. or go to dairy queen and get a sugar free dilly bar. if i don't still go then i KNOW i will have a breakdown and order the whole menu   .. just try to make healthier options!

alsooo if you make meals ahead of time and freeze them then they are ready and you just pop it in the microwave and there ya go! FAST food! haha:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: good luck! everybody slips up but as long as you just keep working on it eventually you will get it!

It won't be easy but if I can break the addition so can you. You need to remind yourself on how you got fat in the first place and remind yourself that you're way better off.

It takes a couple of months to come off of it. Try making your meals a head of time and freezing them, When you get home, all you do is pop the meal in the microwave and dinner is served.

The fast food chains put in an addictive in it to make you crave more of the food, and thats why it's hard to come off of it.

Stay focused and positive, it's a hard habit to break but you have to break it or the weight won't come off and instead you will continue to gain weight. Before you know it, you'll be three to four hundreds pounds.

I love McDonalds! I could eat there every day if I could. I limit my addiction to once every couple weeks and I order a cheeseburger and share an order of fries with my husband. I think I leave even more satisfied than if I had ordered an entire value meal for myself.

When you go, try ordering smaller sandwiches and fries, skip the apple pies and make sure you burn some extra calories that day to make you feel better about what you just ate. Instead of stopping for a burger, stop at subway instead or order a salad at the burger joint.

I consider that fast food as crack...once you get it in your system you have to go back for more. It's a hard habit to break but plan ahead, stop somewhere different, make something at home. It will be tough but you can do it!!

Put your self first and move away from the burgers! You can have a lot of those same fast food meals at home and make them healthier. If your problem occurs when you go to work make sure you bring your lunch. I find that when I plan out my cals for my work day and pack food within my cals, I dont end up overdoing it. Its hard but if you must eat some fast food be smart about it. Have them make it with no may, or not cheese and buy it grilled instead of fried. Good Luck:happy: On step at a time, you'll get there

It's not going to be easy because fast food is just convenient- But you really don't need it and you will save money not eating the junk. Fast Food doesn't fill you up and actually makes you want it more- I remember when I cut out fast food I dropped 7lbs- Now my husband can and has eaten fast food every day for every meal and didn't gain a pound grrr :grumble: -

You are the only one that can control your weightloss - You are the one that knows what you have to do and you are the only one that can do it. No matter what anyone else says to you- You have to apply it only if you choose.

    Good luck

Go get a copy of the "Hungry Girl" cookbook. There are a lot of low-fat, low-calorie recipes to recreate fast food items. In my opinion, this is a temporary fix, becasue, although they are healthier than fast food, they are still not the most healthy items in the world. But still, it should work provide you a way to slowly wean yourself away from the high fat, high sodium, high calories of fast food and give you a way to think more about what you are putting in your body.

i have that problem, also. I love Taco Bell's Nacho Bell Grande. I could eat it everyday ( as a matter of fact, I used to ), but now I treat myself to it once, maybe twice a week. But I only treat myself if I've done something past the norm. Example: I normally run 3 miles, but yesterday I promised myself that if I ran 5, I would treat myself. I actually ran the last 2 miles faster than the first three because I was really looking forward to those nachos. :)

This may not be the right way of doing things, but it works for me. You have to find what works for you, also. Smaller portions is an option, also.
