Have lower leg injury & cannot go for a walk, not run, etc. I only have small, light weight hand-weights. No gym. No access to a pool. Anyone else in similar situation? If so, what do you do?

thanks (I've been depressed due to not being able to run/walk -- as I was just starting back & really loving it)....

I lie on my bed every morning before getting up, and do various leg lifts and circles on my back, and then on my tummy to do some stretches by bending each leg up for a 30 sec count, circling the ankles and lastly pulling toes towards front of shin. I must admit it is good to be able to walk again! I'm aware that I haven't really been exercising my upper body much, so sitting in the car waiting for the level crossing gates to open, jolly dance music on the radio, I did at least 5 or 6 mins of moving my arms in time. The physio suggested using bean tins in each arm to help, but I haven't tried that yet. Just tensing and relaxing all parts of your body in succession burns some calories, too. Are you able to stand holding on to a worktop and just swing your leg?
Good luck, and hope the injury heals soon!
