First 5k Madison, WI

I'm new to jogging...just started in the last couple months. I'm planning to do my first 5k in the next month, or two. Are there any other newbies that would like to join me? I was looking at doing either the American Cancer Society Run on April 21st, or the Lake Monona Run on May 5th. I'd be open to other runs as well.
