Hiii
I currently weigh 141lb and am hoping to get off another 10lb to be at my ideal goal/pre pregnancy weight.
MFP said i should aim to have 1200 kcal per day, which is fine and i can do no probs but the BMR calculator is showing that my
estimated BMR is: 1,345 calories/day*
Does this mean that i should up my daily kcal intake?
i exercise at a gym for 3.5 hours a wk and walk on my lunch break every day for 30 mins. If it helps.
Can anyone help? as im a bit confused x

1200 cals is the recommended, min. calorie intake for a female. If you are exercising, you will have no problem with taking in 1345.0

Okay, so your BMR of 1,345 means that if you were lying down in bed all day, your body would use that much energy to sustain itself. So if you eat 1,200 cals per day, as well as burn off say 700 cals per day, with your half hour walk, normal day to day activities and additional gym work, that means you're only giving your body 500 calories to role with. That's 845 (1345-500) less than what your body needs to sustain itself.
I'd recommend eating around 1,600-1800 per day and you should see some steady weight loss.
Also would highly recommend adding in weight training if you're not already doing it at the gym0 -
If you are looking to lose ten pounds you should be set at "lose HALF a pound per week". This will make your goal MORE than 1200, which is what you need to do.
1200 is way to low when you are dealing with the last few pounds. You need to be eating almost at maintenance and lifting weights.
Never consume less than your BMR...0 -

Well said - this is what I do exactly and have been losing.0 -
Have you tried calculating the calories you would need for 130 lbs? You might be better off counting for the "future you". But you will experience a decrease in metabolic weight if you lose weight - it's 100% normal.0

With the amount you have to lose you should set your goal to lose 0.5lbs/week, this should give you a caloric intake near your BMR0
