It seems that the foods that I gravitate towards are high is sodium and carbs. I need food ideas for all three meals. If you have any favorites that you would share with me I would be very grateful! I am one week into this and lost 6 pounds my first week. I just need some new ideas before my next trip to the grocery store

Congrats on an awesome start. Your body needs a certain amount of sodium but most of us get way more than we need, carbs are also not the evil portrayed by some fad diets - your body needs fuel work, just the same as you car needs gas.

If you're trying to watch your sodium intake the first thing I'd suggest is staying away, as much as possible, from processed foods - some of the supposed "low fat" ones are the worst sodium offenders. Read labels looking for high fructose corn syrup - it's commonly used in processed food as a sweeter as it's a lot less expensive than regular sugar (and your body metabolizes fructose differently than sucrose, fructose is a "natural" sugar and is fine when you're actually eating fruit)

In general terms, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins (chicken, turkey, lean cuts of beef are ok too). Eggs are are a great source of protein and, contrary to the nonsense we were taught in the 70s, yolks are good for you. If you're a pasta lover try whole grain (some people hate it - it tends to be a little chewier), same with bread - whole grain.

Here is what I eat on a regular basis-rotating out options: I try to get fruit and veggies in with lunch and dinners

Breakfast: Weekdays-usually a piece of fruit and chobani fruit flavored yogurt or
steel cut oats with strawberry or cherry jam-homemade or all natural
    yogurt fruit smoothie
Weekends-Omelets-2 eggs spinach and mushrooms, tomatos if I have them with Feta cheese sprinkled on top
scrambled eggs and all natural uncured bacon.
bob mill's mix (found in the organic section) buttermilk waffles or pancake

Lunch-I usually eat dinner left overs for this. Otherwise its ham/turkey sandwhich on sprouted bread or spinach wrap
    Tuna salad-mayo or avacado
    Chicken breast sandwhich
I also try to have some fresh fruit or veggies-tomato, carrots or cucumbers

Dinner: Chicken or steak fajitas with colored peppers and onions served over brown rice
Turkey burgers (allrecipes.com has a yummy recipe that I use)
Turkey Tacos/refried beans made in crockpot (no frying) and or rice
    Soup
Porkchops with a veggie (green beans, broccoli, carrots or brussel sprouts) and red or yellow potato
    Chicken Sausage
Spaghetti with red sauce and ground turkey
Pasta with alfredo sauce and chicken , spinach and mushrooms
    Polenta with a meat sauce
baked chicken-breast, wings or legs with veggies
    Tilapia-with a lemon butter, and veggies/rice/couscous mix
Shrimp or chicken stir fry over rice
