You call it endurance, stamina or whatever you fancy but could you share your knowledge of what exactly is stamina. Yes we know bodies develop it but how and why? And why do we loose it when we don't do the same sort of physical activity for a long period.
I gave up running for about a month and oomph, I think, I have to start running from scratch again..

After a month you shouldn't be starting from scratch but you may have to dial it back a bit (you'll probably bounce back very quickly)
Stamina or endurance are simply your body's adaptive response to a stressor. In the case off running endurance is your body's adaption to the demands placed on it by running (I know- it sound circuitous), by gradually building up time and distance your cardiovascular system becomes more efficient at delivering oxygen to your muscles.0 -
hehe, sorry that this is of absolutely NO help at all, but to me, Stamina is the green bar at the bottom right in Skyrim
And in accordance to Skyrim rules, drinknig alcohol obviously improves one's stamina!0 -

Hmmm. thats a good point "...cardiovascular system becomes more efficient at delivering oxygen to your muscles"
Why bodies unlearn to do so when we dont do the same exercises over a period of time...0 -

It's another adaptive response, our body is truly a "use it or lose it" mechanism.0 -

The specific adaptations that the aerobic training causes are:
> Increased blood volume
> Increased size of the left ventricle of the heart to pump more blood with each beat
> Increased capillarization in the leg muscles
> Increased mitochondria in the leg muscles
> Increased aerobic enzymes in the leg muscles
> Increased storage of glycogen in the leg muscles
> As well as stronger bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
If you stop running these adaptations begin to go away after a week. Depending on how long you trained, they will all have degraded back to the baseline after some months and you have to start all over again.0 -
