I've read a lot of personal experiences from vegetarians that had diets rich in soy.... the soy can wreck havoc on your thyroid and hormonal system in high doses. These people ended up getting really sick and it can be very difficult to reverse the damage. Take notice that I said HIGH doses. Certainly a little soy a day won't hurt you.0

I just started drinking Soy Milk because I wanted to see what it tasted like compared to Cow's Milk. I don't drink loads of it, but it's usually only used with my Protein Shake which I use Whey Protein and not Soy Protein. I use about 150ml of Soy Milk which is once a day. Sometimes I will use Greek Yoghurt instead of Soy Milk, so it's a maximum of 5 days a week, so around 750ml of it.
I have wanted to try Almond Milk, sadly there wasn't any at the store so I had to go with Soy Milk lol.0 -
Soy contains an estrogen-like substance. It's a hugely debated topic in the science world and depending which study you read, soy can increase or decrease your likelihood of cancer. Being that there is no conclusive evidence as of now, I would consume soy in moderation.0

Yes, there is something wrong with soy. It is goitrogenic (meaning it causes goiters), estrogenic (causes too much estrogen) and has caused many people to become Hypo-thyroid.
It ruins the function of the thyroid. I know many former vegetarians (myself included) that became hypothyroid due to soy consumption.0 -

actually it doesn't take high doses of soy. I consumed it in moderate amounts and ended up with thyroid issues, and other hormonal issues too.0 -
I certainly think it's like most foods, not too bad- In Moderation. I do know the estrogen can mess with some women if they are consuming a large amount. I eat soy products 3 or 4 times a week, everything from soy milk, to tofu and processed fake meats and have done so for over 20 years. I don't eat massive quantities at any one time but I suppose over a couple of decades, it adds up to a lot.0

Another thing to keep in mind, if you're trying to avoid GMO foods, that a considerable amount of the soy grown in North America is Monsanto's Roundup Resistant patented seed. (Personally I'm still a bit skeptical about some of the claims made about the dangers of GMO foods but would rather avoid them on general principle)0
