i started logging all my food and exercising regularly in august of 2010. about a month ago i got a little tired of logging every little thing, so i stopped. i continued to eat sensibly while also exercising regularly. the scale has not gone up or down in any significant way, which for me, is a good thing.

Does a year and a half count as "years and years" or do I have to wait another few months?

If it counts, yes I did try it. I hated it.
It made me shed a crap-ton of weight and lower my body fat from 56 to 22%!
    Ewwww for fitness!
The nastiest part? I now have clear skin and visible muscle tone! OH NO!

Like the one about whether or not a pound of fat weighs more than a pound of muscle?

    I like waffles.

Hopefully with butter and syrup? Or at least syrup and lots of fruit? :)

Mmm I seriously want a GD waffle.

If I can't buy it, do it, fail at it, and deprive myself for it, then it obviously cannot work. So why should we even discuss this on here...it's a weight loss site anyway, FFS.

Besides, it's called the search feature; I'm sure you will find hundreds of discussion about this same thing with varying opinions.

Nothing funny to add, too busy reflecting how much more awesome this thread is than the alternative.

I put butter & brown sugar on french toast, pancakes & waffles. It's my breakfast topping of choice. If that doesn't float your boat, do powdered sugar - equally amazing.

I'm not much of a sugar lover except for this... just heavenly.

I found a long term diet of clown porn an blow up dolls has really jump started my weight loss, but the blow up dolls tend to get stuck in your teeth.

I don't like the idea of that.

    I think it'd taste funny?

    so i have two questions:

1, has anyone here done and been successful with eating a balanced diet at a moderate calorie deficit or surplus? (years and years)

2, has anyone tried eating balanced nutrition, i mean REALLY tried it and not liked it?

    thanks!

p.s. if you start a debate on here or reply with anything besides what i asked, it will make for a nice discussion.

those both sound difficult and expensive. Don't you have a pill I can take or some surgery instead. it would make it easier. all this talk of moderation makes em want to get a Happy Meal or seven.

Part of eating sensibly for me is occasionally allowing myself to eat senselessly.

i lost 6 stone 20 years ago and have kept it off mainly since, the worse i have fluctuated was 2 stone, but it was very temporary and i got it back off again straight away. currently i have 1kg to go to get back to target, this target is now 7lbs more than what it was 20 years ago, nowadays i am more realistic about what i can maintain. the last 7 years have been with the help of sites like this, before i was just winging it and thats when eventually i put 2 stone back on xx

Yes, I love comfort food (pasta, hot dogs, chicken, pizza, chocolate), so eating healthy is a challenge for me. For the past few weeks, I've been eating healthy. I hate the taste of most vegetables. While I eat healthy, I have strong cravings for comfort food but haven't given in yet. I hope to stay strong and maybe I'll learn to like it. lol

    1. Lost most of my weight this way. Of course, depending on what you mean by balanced. I'm moderately-low carb (80-100 grams/day) with splurge days going higher than that. So, to me, that's balanced. YMMV

    2. I like it but I'm always striving to do better with eating more vegetables, especially in the winter. For some reason, veggies don't appeal to me as much when it's cold and wet. I don't get it either.

I don't strive to eat clean all the time. Life is more fun when I can plan for splurges with chocolate, pizza, cake, wine, mojitos, pomtinis, and such. I'm probably about 80% clean, 20% fun foods.

    This ^

I've tried a few different "diet" plans, and while some caused weight loss, none seemed all that sustainable.

Besides, there seems to be a "b*tch*ness* factor that happens when one cuts out too many carbs.... yeah, not for me.

I'm currently a vegan. No, wait... not THAT kind of vegan... more like the "Plant STRONG!!" vegans, who eat plant based foods, not too many free fats (low in oils), while NOT throwing paint at people wearing leather shoes,

I also make the best d*mn waffles you've ever had - they are vegan, and gluten free, and so amazingly yummy! I usually eat them naked.... but DH likes them with Earth Balance, agave nectar, and sometimes blueberries on them.

Thanks for the giggle. My eyes saw "I usually eat them naked because DH likes it" until I actually read it.
