Cooking disasters
I thought it might be fun to make a topic about the worst cooking mistakes we've made (and I've made loads!) the funnier the better!
Once, I tried to make a polenta pie. The recipe was American and I had no idea what cornmeal was so substituted oatmeal... Result: cold, burnt porridge (it wouldn't boil firm like the recipe said!) in a pie dish filled with burnt vegetables (cos I definitely remembered to turn the pan off when doing the 'cornmeal'!)
This morning I tried to make celery juice instead of orange. I then tried to add carrot to make it better. That failed, so I tried to fry it to turn it into a sauce.
what are yours?

one time i tried to make chocolate chip cookies with splenda and yogurt margarine. they turned out as muffins somehow.
i wonder if it was the margarine. when i make them with sugar and butter, they work just fine.0
