How come i can measure a pair of trouser that say 32" waist and they are actually 32". Put them on and fasten them...
But you put a tape measure around your waist and it registers 36" ?????????
Anyone any idea??

I guess because you're supposed to measure your waist at the smallest point in your midfriff (sp?) and trousers tend to sit on your hips/lower down.0

My theory:
Because clothes makers have been playing games with us for years. If they take a pair of jeans that would fit a person with a waist that measures 36 inches and they label that pair of jeans as a "32", it makes the shopper feel better, which means the shopper is more likely to become a "buyer".0 -
I thought that too Phil, but lay the pants flat on the bed and measure across the waist and double it...They are a 32"..
Completely bamboozled...0
