In layman's terms, what exactly is it? My trainer did a set of exercises with me yesterday that only took about 10 minutes and I am sorer today then if I had done 60 minutes.

She said it was met con. What is this?

Metabolic conditioning or "metcon" refers to conditioning exercises intended to increase the storage and delivery of energy for any activity.[1]

seriously though, i think i get it what it is now, It's like HIT, but using extreme resistance/strweights to raise the heartrate?? holy sh1t. That'd be very tough.

Not sure I have grasped the why though.

No, we didnt use anything other then during one excercise when we used a kettlebell. But I incorporate that into lots of my stuff anyway, Why am I so sore?I fee like I did hours of training now do not get me wrong, I am delighted but would love to understand what it is!

You're hardcore Aisling. I like to sashay about in navy yoga pants. My weights, oh you will sneer, they are one kilo. I keep meaning to get heavier ones, but........ I'd still use the one kilo weights for most exercises. There's just the odd thing where I think, oh this feels so light it's pointless. But even a side lunge with an anterior raise for example, after 15 of those with a one kilo weight I'm ready for the next exercise.

Is that metconning going to build up your arms like madonnas??? I'd check on that!! not saying her arms aren't great but i'd prefer her abs.
