Not easy....but possible! Count your calories...smaller portions...exercise. And within time...you will! But you have to want it, and not get discouraged or it won't work. Good luck!0

There is no "easy" way......you have to eat less and move more. Get active, watch your calorie intake. It's that simple. Don't believe any quick fixes. There is usually a high cost to your health and the likelihood that you will gain it all back. Just chose to have a healthy lifestyle and it will pay off in the long run for you.0

losing weight is hard work and simple math.

you can start by removing all starches and wheat from your foods and see if that makes any difference.
try the healthy option when choosing your food. if you must eat wheat, then opt for a sweet potatoe instead of the usual white and wholemeal instead of white bread and pasta and same for rice.
eat more fruit and veg and don't forget to drink plenty of water.

Nothing worthwhile is easy!
However, with focus & determination, you can achieve pretty much any goal you set for yourself.
Start with logging your calories. MFP will provide a suggested amount of calories for you to lose 1 - 2 lbs per week. Keep adjusting what you eat until you match what is suggested. Also, if you are currently getting your calories from fast and/or prepared foods. Start adding in whole foods that include fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
As you get into an eating routine. Start doing some form of exercise 2- 3 times per week. If you are not currently active, start off slow. Try something simple like going for a 20 - 30 min walk after dinner a few times per week. Then build on that. Start measuring your time and/or distance. Then try and improve in some form (distance vs speed or just add to the distance).
As you try new things you will learn what works for you. Adjust as you go and don't be afraid to try new things (eating & exercise).
You will be surprised how fast a 1-2lb per week weight loss adds up! It will not be long before you have more energy and confidence than you ever thought possible.
Best of luck on your journey.0 -
Katrionaleigh,
Like nikrit said, there is no magic pill or 'easy' way to loose weight. Diet and exercise are the key. Find something you love to do and get out there and move. I lost mine running, my wife lost hers bicycling and a friend of ours lost over 100 lbs playing disc golf.
My wife was a serious couch potato for years. She became serious about weight loss about a year ago, she is now down over 70 lbs, can run 4 miles, ride her bicycle for 40 miles and swim a mile and she is now into triathlons. But she didn't start there. She started a year ago by just walking around the block and coming home winded. Mine is a similar story, as are many people on here. Read through the forums, especially the success stories. I get lots of motivation there.
Summed up in 4 words 'Move more, eat less'.0 -

I totally agree with all of the above, but it is not THAT difficult with MFP.
Don't be discouraged! I found counting calories and planning my meals to be really fun!
I started by just cutting my calorie intake. As I started losing weight I gradually started to incorporate more exercise (it became much easier with less weight to move).
Good on you for taking control while you are young. And good luck!0 -
Eat Less and Exercise More.
Choose healthier options when eating. You can still eat a lot of food, but it has to be the right choices (veggies, veggies, fruit and veggies...lean proteins, etc). Steer clear from processed foods and fast foods.
Drink LOTS of water!
Watch your calorie intake - that is why MFP is so great.
Stick with it and you can do it! Have patience. It won't all fall off over night.

What others said but also start lifting weights. And no they won't bulk you up by lifting heavy. The only thing that bulks a woman is fat. Maybe check out the book, "The new rules of lifting for women".0

Amputation. Otherwise, it's not going to be easy, it takes work.0
