I just bought Jillian Michaels detox kit because i felt like crap the last 2 days. I was doing so good with my healthy eating and for St.Paddy's day weekend i ate bad things and drank beer. i was feeling horrible and thought that i needed to clean my system. So i bought it just for that. Does anyone know if they are safe? I did not buy it to help lose weight but to make my tummy feel better.

That won't help your tummy feel better. It's pretty much probiotics and a form of laxative.

Our bodies don't need these chemicals and pills as it naturally detoxes and cleanses itself. Best thing to do would be to drink your water, eat healthy and get some exercise in if you can.

Lots of water is the best detox/cleanse I have ever used. I can't believe Jillian put her name on a detox product! She was so adamantly against them in her first book.

If your stomach is sour, try some ginger tea. It's amazing at settling a sour stomach.

eat some water, lots of fruits and veggies and water and your body will take care of it. :) Take that stuff back and spend your money on good food. You could also try Apple Cider Vinegar. I know there are threads on that here. Hope you feel better.

Drinking water and eating healthy foods high in fiber will make you feel better for a lot cheaper.

I agree with the others. Our bodies have a perfectly good detox system on their own. Liver, kidneys, etc. Water, ginger, etc. work well to help it along.

I just spent my first day doing a self-cleanse because I was out of town and ate horribly!! I knew I would feel bad after but it was so good at the time( ha ha ). When I want to self cleanse I spend at least three days drinking lots of water, eat salad, domestic fruit, fish and chicken. Try and stay off sugar, wheat and dairy. Your body will thank you for it and will take care of itself. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, almost all of the "cleanse" and "detox" products out there are nothing but 21st century snake oil and offer no tangible benefit (most of them won't hurt you either......) (Yeah, I'd seen her kit at my local pharmacy, right next to the homeopathic "medicines")

Fibre, fresh fruits, water, lean proteins and you'll be feeling much better very soon.

Hear hear! In general, the word "detox" is a synonym for "quackery". Don't be fooled by woo.

Ideas can be infectious, and just like microbes many of them are not good for you. Be skeptical. You'll live longer and spend less on crap.

    From that article.......

"The big problem with all these detox diets and programs is that little to no scientific evidence for their efficacy exists."
