I'm 5'3.5, and I was a size 16 when I was in the 190s. Like you I tend to carry a lot of muscle, so I'm 149 now and wear between an 8 and a 10.0

I am 5'5" and a size 18 and I weigh 260 lbs., but my mom is an 18 and is 5'2" and weighs 190.0

I'm 5'4" and at 225 lbs. I own size 16s and 18s but the 18s are HUGE on me. I just havent shopped yet. Unless I'm just weirdly shaped, that's how much I weigh.0

How much do you weigh if you are this size? I'm curious to see if we're similar ... I've lost 17 lbs since the end of January and was in an 18. Now in a size 16. I'm hoping to get to a 12 / 14 this summer.
No matter how active I've been I've always weighed more than friends. Even when I was a size 8 I was about 150lbs. I've always been very muscular and know it weighs more than fat. It still stings sometimes though ...
Well, I am not that size now, but when I first started to lose weight I was 191 pounds and wore a size 18. When I was 150 pounds back in 2007, I was wearing a 14. Between 2007-2009 I did a lot of weight lifting with my cardio and diet, so I weighed only slightly less than 150, but was wearing a size 10. (which is why I don't stress too much about the scale anymore as long as I am losing size). I currently weigh around 138 and wear a size 6.
Basically I just wanted to encourage you to pay more attention to the size and how you look/feel than the scale. It can be so deceiving! And also to tell you to never give up, cause you will get to where you want to go. I'm glad that I didn't give up and kept going. My goal was just to be wearing a size 8, but when I saw that I could get even smaller than that and still be really healthy, I plugged along. :flowerforyou:0 -
I am 5' 3" and at my starting weight, 261 lbs, I was a size 22. I am now 191 lbs. and in a comfortable 14. I am like the OP though, always heavier than my friends even when I was smaller. When I was 145 lbs., I was wearing a size 6. My goal is a size 8.0

That's a hard question to answer. With vanity sizing and sizes varying from brand to brand it's too difficult. I have jeans that are Levi that are at least 5 years old size 16 that I can't get into and another size 16 that I got last year that fit well. I also have a pair of old 16 from another brand that fall off me but the size 14 that I just bought that I can't get into.
I agree with her...
I' am 5'3 and current weight it 230 and I can fit in a 16 but it depends on the clothing brand because if I go to Lane Bryant I can fit a 140 -
I'm 5'3" and CW is 157 and wear between a size 12-14. In order for me to get to a size 9/10 I need to be low 140's for sure. I think it really depends on your shape, waist etc.0

I'm telling you right now, it is pointless to compare body sizes and weights and sizes...LOLOL...I have tried to do it and it just depresses me, because someone my height and weight might be 2 sizes smaller than me and vice versa...it is crazy how differently people carry their weight. I get especially annoyed when someone says, "I lost 10 pounds and 2 dress sizes"...WHAT??? It takes twenty pounds lost for me to even go down ONE size. ACK! It will just drive you crazy to body size compare. Take pictures of yourself whenever you lose a few pounds and just look at yourself and how you feel.0

i'm 5'6" 146 in a size 8, which are loose. i always seemed to hoover at about 153 in a size 8. i have in the past been down to a size 6 but i still weighed 142. i have never been a "little" person. i too have always been heavier than what people guess me to be, but i have an athletic, muscular build. i don't seem to mind anymore...i'd rather be fit! no one needs to know your size or your weight...just matters how you feel!
best wishes to you on your journey :0)0 -
5'4". Last time I was a size 16 was five years ago. I weighed around 185 lbs. and we are talking about a TIGHT size 16 at that weight.0

What was your starting weight? I also am 5'4 1/2 and I started at 223 (feb 12') and have lost 17 lbs. and went from a size 18 to a 13/14...... I have another 45+ to loose before summer.... feel free to add me, I'm always on MFP. I log EVERYTHING! It might just be the way your body spreads out it's weight. I hold most of mine in my butt and thigh area and my arms, it's the curse of the hour glass figure!
My starting weight was 230. I haven't seen below 200 since April of 2009. I'm at 213.5 now and am just itching to get down below 200 so badly.0 -
I've always weighed more than I look. I got married at 19, and weighed 135, (5 lbs MORE than my husband!!) and wore a size 9/10 wedding dress. Even now at 230 I can fit into a size 18W. And currently am walking out of those!! My ultimate goal isn't necessarily size, but being able to keep up with my family, and overall health. While I enjoy seeing the numbers go down and the clothes becoming looser, my overall fitness is the most important thing to me. Hubby loves me even though I'm overweight, so I'm sure he'll love me if I'm a 14 too.0

I started my journey at 197 and was a tight 16/18. I was in size 16s until I was probably in the low 180s/high 170s. I just recently got into 12s and I'm around 165. I'm 5'4".0

I am 5'4" and weighed around 200lbs when I was in size 160

5'3" and 200. Size 14. ( I swear 50 pounds of that must be boobs!)
OMG yes! I'm a DD and these suckers carry some serious weight that is for darn sure! Even when I was thin I never wore a L or Medium shirt. Always an XL.0 -
I'm 5'5" and also in a size 16 at 232lbs.0

I'm 5'5" and 198, I wear a US sz 14/16. Most of my weight is in my stomach.0

Hi, I'm 5'4" and weigh 186, I wear a 14 in slacks and a 15 junior in jeans. When I was size 16 I was around 205ish, but I could start wearing size 14 slacks around 195. I carry my weight pretty well, most people don't realize that I still have 60+ pounds left to lose, so basically what I'm saying is that I'm proportionate. I gain and lose everywhere, butt, boobs, thighs, stomach, etc.0

I am 5'2 1/2 and weigh 200.2., and I am now fitting into a 14/16. I am very solid, and when I was at my ideal BMI and size, at size 8 I weighed 140lbs. The charts used to say i needed to be 110. Can't go by charts.0

Im 5'4 weight around 117 and waer something like an American 4.0

I'm 5'5" and I wore a size 18 at my starting weight at 245. Now I weight 219, and I wear a size 16. I say as long as the clothes fit you nicely, then don't worry about the number!0
-
I am 5'4" started at 212, size 16 (tight), refused to buy size 18 . am now at 199 and the 16s are fitting a little better0
-
I'm 5'4 and weigh 172lbs and depending on the make am a size 16 or 14!
You may, not only have more weight because of muscle density, but possibly because you have good bone density!0 -
I'm 5'2, around 155 lbs, and i'm in a size 12 now, but they're starting to feel loose. Around 170 lbs. i was wearing a size 14. Looks like everyone is different and depends on body composition. I'm an apple shape, so i have to buy a bigger size to fit around my larger waist, and then pants are baggy because i have skinny legs and not much rear end!0

I am 5'4 and my starting weight was 312lbs and I wore a size 28 and 4x shirts... I am now 156-158lbs and I am in a nice size 11

I am also 5'4" and weighed 188 two years ago when I first started working out and wore a size 16. Today I weigh 143 and wear between a 6-8, depending on the brand of clothing.
I too was always bigger than all my friends growing up. I am 32 now and weigh less than I did in highschool!! You can do anything you put your mind to. Keep it up and good luck!0
