Upping calories

I see people post about upping their calorie intake and it helps lose more weight. This doesn't make sense to me. Can someone explain it for me. I'm wondering if it would work for me. Thanks!!

Its all to do with long periods of dieting slows your metabolism and effects hormones leptin t3 to name a few. To cut a long story short increasing your calories to sensible levels or even Maintenance levels for a week can help you to start losing fat again!0

Also, generally it is not a good idea for anyone but the morbidly obese to eat below their BMR for extended periods of time. Doing so will generally result in lots of plateaus. The key is to have a moderate, reasonable calorie deficit, not a huge on. For that matter unless a person has a lot of weight to lose, their body will likely not lose weight well at the sort of calorie deficit needed for anything over 1 pound per week. Most people will put it at 2 pounds because they want the weight off quickly. When they do that not only are they trying to force their body to do something it doesn't want to, but they are almost always below their BMR.0
