Are there any women in their late 40's , early 50's with before and after pics, and how you became so succesful? Please share your stories, I need to be inspired. At my age (48) every thing helps, can I really get the body I want? Help me believe! thank you

I still haven't figured out the photo thing, but if you click on my name to get to my page, you'll see about 5 pictures that show a 70-lb loss over the course of a year, I started when I was 48.5 years old. I originally felt that if I lost 40 lbs I'd be thrilled, but I consistently lost 10 lbs per month for the first 6 months. It literally fell off, due to healthy eating and a lifestyle change. The last 10 lbs took the last 6 months, it came off slow, but I didn't care; I wanted to slow it down anyway. I am now on my last 5 lbs, I'll be 50 in 6 weeks, and will weigh less than I ever have since probably high school or before. You CAN do this---I never thought I'd lose this much weight, but it was actually rather easy once I got into a routine and "diet" (as in lifestyle change, not temporary diet) that works for you.
I still have problem areas: traveling for work, social situations, and...well...winter. But I am slowly working on those problem areas and have confidence that even if I lose it for a week or so, my regular patterns make up for it.

I'm 48 years too. This was me approx 3 weeks ago after completing level 1 of NROLFW. I used to be approx 168 lbs, now approx 142. Have lost 3" off my bust, 7" off my waist and 5" off my hips.0

All of you look fantastic! Question ... how'd the belly fat come off? I've almost resorted to accepting the fact that I'll always have a spare tire thing around my belly button! Partly because of my age and partly because of 3 children! I know it's possible to loose it, but mine is not budging! Does it just take time or incorporating something into your diet? Tips will be greatly appreciated! You all have really given me inspiration to keep at this. I'll be 48 in less than 3 weeks.0

Man, everyone has great guns!! I so appreciate you sharing with me! How did you get your guns? With the NROLFW? Thank you, you look great! And your my age which makes it seem like it may be possible for even me!0 -
I joined MFP the day after I turned 47 (it'll be a year in a few weeks). Over the course of the past year, I have lost 34 pounds. The weight come off slowly, but surely. I tweaked my eating habits, I focused on portion control and reduced the quantity of sweets I ate. I don't deny myself. I realized that if I crave something, I'll have a small portion of it. I'll be switching to maintenance mode in a few days. At this point, I want to focus on training for a Spartan Race not on weight loss. It is possible, you just have to be patient. Good luck!0

http://www.fat2fitradio.com/ This website is fantastic for helping you get on your way. It has helped me to work my way through the diet myths doing the rounds on this website (yawn). You do not have to starve yourself to lose weight. Feed yourself well and move your body! Go to the website, on the first page you will see Top Audio Clips written in Green. Click on the audio button for their F2F philosophy. Makes so much common sense to me, and changed the way I Iook at improving my health/body. There's some really cool calculators on there too for measuring bodyfat %, BMR etc. Listen to their audio shows, they are inspirational!
If you want to know about NROLFW, I will send you a link to the website also.
YOU CAN DO THIS, IT IS NEVER TOO LATE!!! :happy:0
