Where can I go out to eat for my 21st birthday?

My parents always take me out for my birthday. I always go to Applebee's, until I realized that HALF of what I usually order is 1,000 calories. Damn you, buffalo wings :(
Where could I go to get low calorie/low fat foods? Or is it just best to suck it up, and not go out for my birthday?

    Applebees has a good WW salad for like 400 calories! If you have a Quoba by you, they have the best online nutrition calculator and the calories aren't even that bad!

    I wouldn't worry about it on your 21st. The calories from the drinks alone will put you in the hole.

    That's so true. I might just not count calories on that day then! Good enough excuse (:

    Give yourself a treat on your birthday. Especially with your 21st. The drinks alone will be bad enough :P. Just enjoy yourself, and get back on track the next day (well, probably 2 days later since you will be hungover :smile: )

    Take a cheat day! Enjoy it and then rededicate yourself to something special. You have the metabolism in your favor. If not now, then when?

    Thanks! I'm not sure why I'm stressing about it now, cause my birthday is in 16 days lol. I just think it's gross that one meal is my daily calorie goal.

    For your 21st birthday you are free to eat whatever and wherever you want!!! That is one birthday you will never forget and it should be memorable. Worry abut where to eat on your 22nd birthday. :) And of course you have to go out. Do not stay home because of calories.

    Its food. Its not "gross" or anything like that. Maybe still work out and eat healthy-ish earlier in the day, but let loose that night.

    If you're ever going to allow yourself one day free from counting calories then let it be your 21st. Go out and enjoy that night stress free. Just workout hard the few days before and after (nothing beats a hangover like a good hour of cardio haha) and you'll be fine. By the way, Happy early Birthday lol take a shot for all of us here on MFP. I recommend Jack and coke

    My recommendation is pick something reasonably healthy but ignore the calories. My choice is usually steak and steamed veggies. But do yourself a favor and don't go nuts on the drinks. It's a birthday-you've got the rest of your life to drink.

    I am obsessed with counting calories. If I don't do it, I feel weird... I don't know.
    But I won't count it on my birthday. Cardio with a hangover sounds awful, though. (;
    Thanks everyone!
    & RDalton, happy birthday!

    calories don't count on your birthday, didn't you know that?

    but in all seriousness, counting calories even on special days is important to me too. I say enjoy it - get what you want, eat it, and enjoy it. Get a workout in and eat healthy the rest of the day, and drink lots of water!
