Getting Hungry at Night & Water.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering. What do you do when you get hungry later in the night? I find myself snacking sometimes at like 10pm or later. I try my best to snack responsibly though.
Also, I find it hard to drink 8 cups of water a day. That is like 4 Poland Spring bottles. Do other things count towards your 8 cups a day? I'd say I average about 4-6 cups a day.

I definitely want to snack at night so if I really cant help it will grab a big cup of water and something small with no fat in it. carrot sticks are good.0

Your body takes in water from almost everything you eat, however I would never count it as water gained. One thing I do and I have yet to get sick of it is drink water with the "real lemon" and "real lime" juice. Just a bit of it and I mix it in and it makes water super enjoyable to me instead of a chore to drink. It has no refined sugar and no calories, carbs or anything. Try that out maybe!0

Bump! It's 5 am where I am and I woke up at 2.30 STARVING. Had some water (I ate so much before bed) but still cant get back to sleep.
On the water, I try to drink out of pint glasses- i think of it as 4 pint glasses of water, and if you can manage 2 with lunch and dinner (take a couple of sips every few mouthfuls) 8 seems like nothing!0 -
For water: Make a habit to just drink it - if you have it handy, you'll drink it. I keep a case by my work desk and home desk.
For the hunger part, i eat a banana and drink a bottle of water - curbs sweet tooth.0 -
i also add a slice of lemon to my water, or a tea bag into my water bottle (raspberry or green tea are awesome). I include any tea that i drink towards my water total for the day as well, so between drinking tea and water i usually meet my requirements for the day0

8 cups is easy...get a plastic 'pint glass'...one of those when you get up..remember, you haven't drunk anything for 6-8 hours and need to hydrate. That's about 2.5 cups
Then, fill it when you get to work, and finish it before noon...another 2.5 cups
Fill it with lunch, finish it...another 2.5 cups. 7.5 cups and you are barely done with lunch.
Water in the afternoon and you are well ahead of the game and you are hydrated before you go work out.
Work out, more water, and before you know it, your natural thirst will drive you to drink only water (or water with some lemon)
And about eating late...eat it. There is nothing wrong with eating late. Your body will burn the calories.0 -
I trained myself not to eat after dinner. Once every 2 weeks or so I find that I really can't resist, so I have a mini mango weiss ice-cream bar, which are only 55 cal.
Try some licorice tea. Or if you're in America, try David's tea. It's my FAVOURITE. Especially the Seriously nutty flavour. I wish they had it in Aus!0 -
I know it sounds crap but this is one of my big failings eating at night. I too get super hungry in the evening, I find that if I resist the urge to snack I lose more weight at the end of the week, I know weird. However if I cant resist the urge I drink a huge glass of water and suck a boiled sweet. If I still have the urge I have a banana or yoghurt or some low fat snack of choice0
