I am having great difficulty in keeping my calories to my required level because of all the hidden sugar in food.
I have never eaten the required level in the last 3 days but have exceeded sugar every day sometimes even doubled the intake.
I never realised how much sugar there is in fruit and nowhere on this programme is different sugars highlighted so I have no idea whether or not I am eating good sugars rather than bad sugars.
Is anyone else finding this?
Does anyone else have any ideas to help?
Karen

Read, read, read the labels and ingredients on your food. Fruit and vegetable have natural sugars, and also some dairy does as well. I always read the label and list of ingredients when grocery shopping. I don't worry about the natural sugars, but I try and keep added sugars below 40 grams a day.0

You shouldn't be worrying about sugar in fruits. Unless you're diabetic or something like that. You should be looking out for sugar in sodas, juice, or other things such as cookies or white breads/pastas/etc.0

Finding it really hard to eat enough but stay below sugar levels. Could do with better sugar intake listed and better vitamins i.e. vits B, folic acid and starch are missing yet are listed on the packets.....0

Thanks I find the sugars most confusing and as diabetes runs in the family this is the area I am trying to focus on as prevention is better than treatment.

Some you can read on here like starches and stuff. You can see more if you have a phone with the app.(I use too) Most labels only have vitamin A, C, iron and calcium.
I also try and watch my sodium, this week wasn't a good example, but at least I didn't go over.0 -
Thanks everyone....knowing others have the same issues and have overcome them has really helped me.0
