Disappointed with my progress!!

I was finally able to get outside yesterday for a good old fashion jog outdoors and I was very disappointed with how hard it was!! I started my journey last summer with brisk walks on nature trails and worked my way up to alternating between jogging and walking in intervals. Once the weather turned bad I got a treadmill to use thru winter and have felt like I have built up my stamina pretty well. I mean I'm certainly not ready to fun a marathon or anything but I figured I could at least handle a good 10 15 minutes of jogging before I needed to slow down to catch my breathe. Turns out that I was only able to run about 5-7 minutes before I was exhausted!! I pushed myself for as long as I could but just didn't feel like I accomplished much. I feel pretty discouraged right now and am left wondering how running on pavement vs running on a treadmill can be sooooo much different??? I understand that theres a big difference between running on ground that is moving instead of ground that isn't but geez!!:explode:

Don't punish yourself for that! You are right to say that running outside is different. There is cushioning/bounce built into a treadmill that doesn't exist outside. Also, depending on where you run, the ground may not be totally flat. The stresses on your legs/ankles/feet will be different and you really can't equate the two.
