So, I am fairly new to MFP, and always enjoy reading everyones comments. Since I have been up and down on the scales most of my life, I have decided to take a new approach- I'm focusing on small steps. My exercise goal is 10 minutes of walking, twice a day. Not running- not jogging- but walking at 2.5 mph. Not much, but I know I can do this without feeling like I have to live on the treadmill. I am trying to plan out my meals in advance, but hate going to the grocery store so this can be a challenge. Last night I was asked to go out for a quick dinner with a friend. The old me would have jumped on it and had a hamburger and fries. The small step I took- I suggested Subway- had a 6" veggie on wheat- no chips- no cookie- no side (but, alas, did have to have a Diet Coke)- and felt satisfied. And it fit perfectly into my food goals (actually better than the planned dinner- which allowed me to have a little snack later). Often I see how people are leaps and bounds ahead of where I am in getting healthy and feel I will never get there. So, I am focusing on the small steps! I could use any helpful tips!
