Want to reduce a couple of waist inches

I find very hard to reduce waist size. I've noticed that when I don't eat too much at dinner time, the next day my waist seems to be tight. But when I eat too much at night, and specially, too late, after 9pm, then I wake up the next day and my waist looks so big!
I am wondering if eating just a salad (veggies and chicken), no cabs, every night for dinner would help me reduce waist size.
Has anyone tried this? Are there any suggestions to reduce waist size? very appreciated!!

    Have you tried exercise DVDs? I've only done fifteen days of the 30 Day Shred, and I've lost 1 1/2 inches in my waist.

    Thanks for replying. I have the problem right now that I cannot do strength training yet. I am recovering from a rib injury. I have to stick for now to controlling my intake of food. I wish I could do abs!! Thanks for sharing the information of the DVD though.

    Eat right and have the proper macronutrients.

    To get your numbers right please visit http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/ Do the Military Body Fat Calc first, then the BMR tool. The BMR tool will give exact calories to eat on a daily basis. Add 20% to this number to get your TDEE. For Fat loss plans set up macros at 30% Protein/Fat each.

    After 1 month if your body fat hasn't gone down i'll quit MFP.
