The popular diet advice to eat 6 small meals per day totally messed up my progress. Staying on track was hard and I would eat just to eat 6 times but then never know if I was feeding hunger or not.
I had heard that because I'm overweight I wouldn't know what real hunger is anyhow. Now THAT is a load of BS. I gave myself the past couple of weeks to listen to my hunger and feed myself the amount plus times that would satisfy me while balancing with my nutritional goals.
The result is 4 times per day, it's perfect for me,about 350-400 cals x 4. I'm losing weight again, feel energized and wonderful plus I feel more like I know what I'm doing.
If one of the latest popular opinions isn't working for you, scrap that junk and find what is right for yourself. :flowerforyou:

That's great! You're right, you should do what's best for YOU. Not everyone can eat 6 small meals a day a lose the same amount as someone else. If you're eating healthy, drinking plenty of h2o, exercising a decent amount..you should be good to go! If whatever you're doing is working, keep it up! Way to go! Great job

thanks for the great post!! i think you have found what so many find it practically impossible to do -- getting truly in-tune with your own body and developing a plan that works for you.

so many times there are just "blanket" diets and advice, and we must realize we are all unique and certain things may work for one and not another -- and to find something that truly works for you, has you feeling healthy and working towards your goals is an accomplishment you should be very proud of!

congrats and best of luck to you on your quest!

Good post. Finding the 'right way' for you is probably the most important strategy for a life style change to take hold. That includes tools like this web site, journals, blogs and anything else that works for you. I would suggest keeping an open mind to other people's plans and suggestions.
