Curious to see what some of you are focusing on. I started out just counting calories. After a few weeks, I decided to track my daily intake while on South Beach. Surprisingly, most of the calories for the day stayed the same. I have since hit a plateau, so I have added more healthy carbs.....grapefruit and yogurt. This helped kick start my weight loss again.

Any input would be appreciated!!
Thanks and everyone have a great week.

I track everything in grams... I already know how many grams of everything I need to eat, and I know how many calories it'll amount to. I try to eat about 20-30 g each of carbs and protein at each meal and 7 g of fat at each. I also keep track of my macronutrient ratios to eat 40% calories from carbs and protein, and 20% from fat.
  • I mainly watch my calories, but of those I try and make sure that 50% are carbs, no more than 10% sugar, no more than 10% saturated fat, and 30% fat, 20% protein.

I only do this because this is the govenment guidlines in the UK for what you should eat. I don't really know what the basis is for that!

I don't stick to it religiously, but I aim for it. If I go over on my protein, I am not too fussed about it, but I definatley do not like going over my saturated fat, sugar and carbs!

    Thanks for your input.
I have definitely added more GOOD carbs to my daily intake and it has helped a bunch.

Thanks again, it helps to read what others are doing!
