Carbohydrates, fat, and protein are referred to as macronutrients (macros, for short). It's important to hit both your calorie and macro goals for healthy weight loss. You should be concerned with hitting your calorie goal first, and your macro goal second. If you hit your calorie goal but are over or under your macros, that's not ideal, but it's ok, at least until you learn to eat foods that will hit your macros.
What it comes down to is that if you are going over your carbs, you need to eat foods with fewer carbs. Things like pasta, bread, and things with sugar have lots of carbs. It is possible, and not that difficult, to hit both your carb and calorie goals. You just have to do a little research, read labels, and be willing to eat less of some things that you like.0
