Calorie vs BMR

I used bmi-calculator.net to get another prediction of BMR, because 1200 calories a day is a low number--doable, but I'm in this for fitness, not starvation--and I got a number of 2300 calories per day (27y0/5'3"/155lbs, exercise at least 5 days a week >30 min).
Then the site suggests a good place to start is either a 20% OR a 500-calorie decrease per day to lose weight (1 lb a week).
So, I think I could reasonable bump my calories allowance up to 1500-1800. By the time I log my exercise, I usually only net about 200-600 calories per day.
Sound logic? I think I'm right here...

That 2300 is your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), not your BMR, but, yes, with the exercise you list, I think you should be able to to do 1500 -1800 a day. If you are doing simple cardio (walks, basic treadmill), I'd probably stick closer to the 1500 figure. If your exercise is more intense, you should be able to go up more.0
