Strength training NSV

I had the best NSV tonight at the gym.
My regular PT stood me up at the gym tonight (NOT happy) the gym manager found me a trainer to work out with.
A new trainer, I'd not met before. I said "I guess you should know I had knee surgery 3wks ago so I'm on light training on my legs, but I'm expecting an upper body strength session"
He was stunned I was back at the gym already, and started out with bench presses. He upped the weight 3 times.
I can bench press 60kg. That's 130lbs OR, the weight of my 14yr old son.
From then on he was picking weights pretty suitable for me... I enjoyed the work-out, thought he was a nice bloke then he said "You are really strong, especially if this is your first session back after 3wks away."
I said "Thanks, I enjoyed the session."
He said "Seriously, really strong."
I'm a happy girl!
Mind you, I did have trouble lifting my arms to my head to wash my hair! LOL.

I just told this story to a co-worker and he said what the trainer meant was ... "you're strong... for a girl."
and another chimed in with "no, you're strong for an old chick".0 -

They're jealous. Ignore them! better yet - say "why don't you come down to the gym with me and challenge the old chick to a bench press duel?"0 -
Pretty sure they were just trying to be funny... that's the spirit in which I took it anyway.0
