So I have been on MFP for well over a year, met my weight "loss" goals. I am a member of local Y, love almost every form of excercise, I like variety. Love to lift weights, love playing squash and have just started dabbling in C25K....but I am getting bored and want to add a morning workout in that will really challenge me and help get ripped up......
so I am debating between Insantiy and P90X...I have read comparisons online and due to time constraints and committment..I think I am leaning towards Insanity...I think it will still allow me to play squash, do the program in only 60 days, and still lift weights as well......
but I have also heard so many good things abourt P90X..........PLEASE SELL ME ON ONE OF THESE!!!!

I faced this question today also. I have decided to go Insanity first as it is more Cardio based and will help me shed a few more pounds, then I will tone it up with P90x after... Thats my method anyways, hope it helps0

P90X is a lot slower pace than Insanity but their both supposed to give you the same results one just quicker than the other but I like them both.0

I saw great results with Insanity and you don't have to buy any equipment for the workouts. That is what sold me. Either will get you results if you stick with it.0

I can't comment on Insanity because I've never done it but P90X is fantastic for discovering muscles you haven't seen for a while!! LOL The definition you get is brilliant. You do need weights though, mine aren't actually heavy enough but I don't have room for more.0

I have P90X and I love it. Love the variety of workouts, how I can cut it short if I need to. Am planning on working it out hard these next few weeks. But, I must admit my eye has been wandering towards Insanity. I've never done it, but it's on my "someday" list. But, then, I just got ChaLean Extreme and it's up next after my P90X round.
sorry... i'm absolutely no help at all!0 -
I've done both and prefer P90x - it's more balanced. Sure, I burned a lot of calories on Insanity, but ended up flabby fit. P90x incorporates weight training, which helps maintain lean muscle mass. You said that your'e dabbling in C25K. You might want to consider New Rules of Lifting for women. I'm doing both - that way, you get both your cardio and strength training in, and NROL is compound lifts, which are much more effective than all the isolation moves in P90x. Just my 2 cents worth!0

I have both several times. I started with P90X, lost several inches but not pounds (maybe because I was gaining muscle) and then went on to Insanity. After I got done with Insanity I then mixed them up because I liked the weight work in P90X but not the cardio work. For me personally when I started P90X I was at 151 and out of shape so it really helped build me up to the level that I could do Insanity well. Now since I believe you are already working out Insanity may be the way to go and then you can throw in your own weight work Let me know if you have any questions! I love them both and am mixing them up still do this day0

hmm, I have thought about NROLFW too..I really want to get lean now though...I have been lifting for over a year now and have a pretty good muscles base already but really want to get that "ripped" look.....I am not sure I can commit to the P90X due to the time and I don't want to give up my gym and squash time too......
UGGH...how bad is it when the hard decision is what to torture myself with now? Maybe Insanity with some NROLFW too?0 -

This is exactly it...I have lifted weights for well over a year and am pretty muscular now..so not sure P90X is it.....but I love bootcamp, HIT, Tabatta style classes I go to...so maybe Insantiy???0
