Neither- give me some Salsa Brava

When I was a kid this is what we had. In the 60's! La Victoria Salsa Brava; that's what Mom bought. In the 80's I moved to SoCal from Montana. I lived in Pasadena, and the in-laws lived in Pico Rivera. I passed by the La Victoria plant all the time on Rosemead Blvd just south of the San Brdo 10 freeway. It smells wonderful, just like Salsa Ranchera.

So I bought some Salsa Brava just last week for Old Time's sake. It's not as spicy as I remembered it... I guess my tastebuds have changed. I was using it like ketchup.

    They are nearly the same.

    Dave's Insanity for cooking.
Fresh made salsa at home is good. I actually eat a lot of Srirancha. I also eat a salsa that I make with chipotles.
And for heat I also like fresh chopped jalapeños.
    Another one is Jardines Sontava.

I'm a big fan of Daves Insanity. It'll light you up. In our family, when you get a cold, we mix together salt, daves, ghost chili and whatever else hot sauce or dried pepper in the house in a cup with some water and gurgle it. It'll clear you out.

For just general dinner without too much heat, I'm all for tapatio. It's my go to man.

My sister digs the Srirancha though. And the chili sauces instead of hot sauces because of flavor.

One more vote for Valentina here. But I do like Cholula over Tapatio.
