Weird Plateau Breaker

Ok. Please don't bash me for this, but I tried something different this week. My weight loss has been super slow. Sometimes I have gone weeks without losing. This week I tried to exercise very minimal and eat within my 1270 calorie limit. I have lost more weight this week than I have any other week since starting 8 weeks ago. This is the only week I have not exercised almost every week day. I guess I was possibly putting on some muscle, and retaining water from the exercise before and that was offsetting anything I was losing?? This is just a trial week, and I will resume my regular exercise routine next week, but this is interesting. Does anyone else have this issue?
Last year I used MFP and lost a larger amount of weight within a shorter period of time. I had exercised way less then. That is why I am trying this method out this week.

If it works I say go for it. Maybe if you increase your calories to match your working out. That will make a difference too. It sounds like maybe you weren't eating enough calories. Your body will hold on to the weight if you don't eat enough calories.0

You just need to focus less on base weight and more on what you're doing, exactly - muscle weight is good weight. Unless you don't want any muscles. In which case I guess don't work out and cut down on cals?
But muscles are good. With muscles you can pick things up, like kegs and automobiles.0 -

This is very true. Always eat back your calories and aim to only eat less than 500 total of what you're burning. If you eat less you will plateau because you're telling your body that you are starving so it will hold on to your weight and slow your metabolism.0 -

No, you weren't eating enough to support the level of exercise you were doing. Eat more when you exercise.....I don't know much about you, but definitely you should eat 1600-1700 on those workout days. (I'm assuming you have 40+ pounds to lose, and are normal height.)0 -
Yes I would like to lose about 50 lbs. I am 5'5". Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.0

I always found my muscles worked well for keg lifting... or maybe just solo cup lifting.0 -

Exactly. This isn't a weird plateau breaker...it means your body is trying to tell you something: EAT MORE!0 -

Agree with this ^^0
