What time do you "Close your Kitchen"?

Today another member mentioned that she closed her kitchen at a certain time. Pretty much meaning no more food after the "Kitchen is Closed". I thought it was a wonderful way to look at it.
What time do you stop eating and do you think it makes a difference in your weight loss?
**Mama always said "don't eat after 7pm or it will make you gain weight". <--- this theory.

Yeah I try not to eat late, but I usually have my desert snack (like.. fruit, usually) at about 7-8pm.
Dunno how much of a difference it's making. I'd try to at least say no big meals after 6, 7 at latest.0 -
Never!!! I don't generally eat after 9-10 pm though since I tend to be in bed, but on weekends anything goes since we do movie nights and whatnot, but I have no hard rules about it at all.0

My kitchen is closed when its cleaned up...about a hour after dinner!!0

Generally i try to have eaten my main evening meal by 6 and snacks stop by 10pm. Unfortunately i have a boyfriend who works late and comes back with takeaway, chocolate etc and puts the coffee pot on!!!!0

Sorry, but I think Mama was wrong! Eating after 7 is not going to make you gain weight. It might help you change some bad habits to do with snacking in the evening, but that's about your eating patterns not about timing.
I stop eating when I've eating all my calories for the day (usually) or when I'm not hungry any more or when I'm asleep.0 -
I don't! I find the time I most want to eat is between about 8pm and midnight. I've learnt to make sure I save enough calories that I can snack in the evening because otherwise I start to want to eat everything in the house.0

My kitchen is never closed, partly due to the fact that my son eats constantly. I try not to join him, and don't eat too late, because I can't sleep too well with a full stomach.0

I don't stop eating until I've gotten all my calories in, doesn't matter what time.0
-
Never!
And frankly it doesn't seem to be a factor in whether the pounds come off or not. Admittedly I do try not to eat A LOT close to bed.0 -
I completely agree...as long as you stay within your calories it doesn't really matter what time you close your kitchen0
-
I find it best to stop eating before I'm actually asleep. Otherwise, the cats try to crawl in my mouth and that's just bad for everyone.0

Hehehehe, thanks for the giggle - I can visualise you sleeping with your mouth open and the cats trying to get in there to get out that last snack!!0 -
When I was in my teens I had dinner at 9pm
Now if I eat that late ill get sick
So around 6 to 630 I have my dinner, and maybe half an hour later a fruit or a 'healthy' sweet since i find myself craving dessert after dinner
What I am doing now at night is heating up some water, adding lemon to it/apple cider vinegar and have that around 8. sometimes i had a tbls of unsulphured organic black strap molasses to it or a small amount of aloe vera juice to it. this drink helps me relax a bit
I try to stop my eating/snacking by 8:30pm latest. a nurse told me that one should stop eating 3 hours before sleeping as the food 'weighs' on your heart..dunno if that is true
I also walk about 30 min the evening now as I am trying to get my heart rate up since I have been lazy and inactive for so long0 -
Never- I refuse to go to bed thinking about food or hungry. Just means I'll end up binging the next day if I do. I just try to make sure I stay in calorie goal or if I'm going over then doing it with something like fruit.0
