Only for ladies...period irregularity

Hi :

I have cysts in my ovaries. I was prescribed contraceptives and I have been taking them for almost 7 years. 3 months ago, I decided to stop taking them as I suffered from constipation ( I think it was the last brand that caused it)... The problem is that I did not have my period the for one or 2 months. Today, I felt like it was coming... But I guess is not as much as I expected...
Has anybody experienced constipation after taking contraceptives? Has anybody been delayed that much ?
I know I'm not pregnant...I took several tests and had an ultrasound... So that out of the question..
I appreciate your answers.

I haven't taken contraception in years, but when I got off the shot it took a few months for my period to return to some form of normalcy. I can't recall any constipation, though.
