I went on vacation for my birthday, the weekend of May 3rd. I weigh 161.4 before I left. It was horrible, the eating part. I weigh in the next week and I lost .4 pounds. Then I weigh in the week after and stayed the same 161. I did go out for dinner a couple of times for mother's day. I was so disapointed.

Then, today, I got on the scale and dropped 6.2 pounds... in one week.... water weight. I knew it was water weight because even though I was eating out, I was only 300-500 net calories over and I was still excercizing.

I counted... exactly 8 weeks today since I started this journey... and 25.2 pounds gone forever. And 29.8 more pounds to go to get to my goal weight.

I might meet my mini goal of 150 by July 4th.

Thank you and sorry if I bored you... I'm just so darn excited!!!!

Thats great, I weigh about 161.2, thats what the scale said last night, my goal weight is 125, but I've hit a plateau, well I've hit many plateau's hopefully with summer, I can get past this hump. But I tend to worry also, when eating out, how I'm doing. Keep up the great job, I know you can do it. :flowerforyou:

I'm asian, so as you know, we love our rice. I use to eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well, I am eating about 4-6 cups of rice every day. That's about 800 to 1,000 calories just for the rice alone.

All I'm doing is cut back on my rice (only have it for dinner and only 1 to 1 1/2 cup) and excercizing. My average day looks like this:

    Breakfast 7:00 am
    1 cup special K ceraly
    1/2 cup skim milk
    1 small banana
(I keep the calories under 300)

    am snack (10:30 am)
    1 Fiber One bar
    (under 150 calories)

    Lunch (12:30pm)
1 sanwich (1 slice oscar meyer turkey breast and 1 slice brownberry oatnut bread filled with lettuce)
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1 small apple
    1 cup skim milk
    (under 400 calories)

    pm snace (3:00 pm)
    1 fiber bar
    (under 150 calories)

    Dinner (6:00 pm)
    1 cup white rice
    4 oz chicken breast grilled
    1 cup steamed green beans
    1 activia yogurt
    (under 500 calories)

Total calories around 1,500. I try to excercise everyday Monday to Friday at least 30 to 60 minutes (not including my 30 minutes casual walk during lunch at work). I walk/jog outside (1 block walk 1 block jog, treadmill, stationary bike and burn about 300-500 calories, so my net calories is usually around 1,200 calories. If I go over 100 or under 100, I'm okay with that. Then on the weekends, I play around with my kids, take long walks, hike, or play ball ect... I have a 16, 15, 12 and 10 year old.

I just stick as closely to the calories as above and the pounds are dropping off. When I go out to eat, I still log in everything that I can remember, and yes.. I have bad days too... like I went out to eat for mother's day at my total calories was almost 3,000 calories. I just try to bounce right back the next day and work out a little harder.

    I hope that helps.

That helps alot. Those sound like pretty reasonable meal plans to follow. I'm currently on the Slim Fast, and I've lost 12 pounds on that, but it's kind of getting old.

12 pounds is still really good. Congratulations. I like some of the slim fast drinks too and their bars. I sometime replace a meal with a slim fast drink and have a slim fast bar for snack too.

I notice that as long as I keep my net calories around 1200-1500 and watch my sodium intake (under 2500) I will lose some weight.

It's a tough battle... just got to keep wanting it bad enough. I put my stationary bike right in my living room so when the family sits down to watch tv, I'm riding my bike. This has helped me alot.

Good luck, I know you can do it.

 Thanks for posting- this is encouraging. I've been stuck at 291 for over a week and the only thing I can figure is that I'm falling under on my calorie count.
I can't wait for this plateau to end.
Congrats to you!!!! Keep up the great work!
