I need some help...Power 90 vs regular routine or both? Too Much??
I'm excited (and scared;) about starting the new program I got yesterday Power 90. I'm excited and thrilled because though I LOVE LOVE LOVE my regular daily routine (30 minutes full body strength training/resistance stationary bike, 30 minutes treadmill, 15 minutes full body strength training/resistance Nordic Track Stepper, 30 to 120 minutes outside walking time and have seen
phenomenal and miraculous results in doing this six days per week (along with eating and drinking good things). I feel "Led" to incorporate this new program into my daily regime.
I'm scared because I looked at the videos yesterday and it's tough looking for me--not too tough that I can't do it, but it's going to take some time, because I'm still outta shape. I'm 100% better than I was when I was a lazy bum couch potato (2 months ago--the beginning of my new lifestyle journey)...but still not a total pro.
So, I'm wondering...how can I incorporate this 6 day program and my regular routine in. Will it be too much? Just looking for some ideas/pointers. Thanks in advance for your reply.
I'm going to post this in another area as well. Any success in doing something like this--Power 90 (or another program) and at LEAST an hour of other stuff you like/routines as well?

I LOVE this program! One of the greats and I will be starting it next month! I don't know what package you got but mine came with 1,2 strength and cardio and 3,4 of the same..I would say just stick with 1,2 for a while and see how your body adapts! One thing I will say from past experience is that it goes really fast! Be blessed friend!!!0

Hey beloved! Thanks for your reply and encouragement. I got the 1-2, 3-4 and fat burning one. How thrilling you have this too.
What do you think about doing this AND my favorite regular routine? Will it be too much? Of course everyone different and you can't speak for my body (hahahha), but ya know what I mean? Because again, I LOVE my regular routine.0 -
Work the tougher workout in slowly. Try it one day, and if you're very sore, go back to your regular routine for a couple of days, then do the new one again. It's good to mix up routines for a couple of reasons- 1) boredom 2)each workout targets a different set of muscles. A little bit of soreness is good- but you don't want to be so sore you can't move the next day, either. No pain, no gain is literally true.
With regards to doing both- go for it! I'm working my way up to working out twice a day, but I can only manage it once/twice a week- I really push each workout, so it's a lot to ask of my old body twice a day.
(doing Cage Fitness as my primary, and P90/Power 90 on off days, and as a second workout)0 -

Love this post...it's the mixing it up thing that's exciting to me. PLUS, this new program (Power 90) is going to jack-up some of those areas I'm missing / not targeting in my regular routine, you're right and that's what's exciting to me too. What's scary is to me is the potential of overdoing it. I'm wondering if i should do this Power 90 in the a.m. and my regular at night.
Thank you so much for your post--so very much!0 -

I agree, start slowly and just listen to your body. I love the old saying that says "the best exercise is the kind you'll do!" lol For me I want to have fun, feel challenged, and work up a good sweat. I have been sticking with Body Gospel just because I LOVE this program! I do this with my kids and it is just a fun workout I look forward too. SO I think the secret is finding something you love and while sticking with it in some measure you could always break it up and change up your daily schedule! muscle confusion is Tony Horton's claim to fame and I really think he is on to something! I think the best advise I can give (and take lol) is too not stay to rigid, allow flexibility in your routine to account for your moods and bodily needs! You are doing so amazing my friend!!!0 -

You too are doing amazing and are amazing sister girl! Thank you for this wise and good advise. Body Gospel? Never heard of it...I'll have to check it out. The kids watched Tony's video with me yesterday and say they want to do it too--they say they don't want to be "skinny fat" Even my beloved hubby says he'll do it with me too--even though he's slim and trim, so....
Love ya and thanks again!0 -
I did the sculpt 1 and it was really just my speed. Not too easy, not too hard and I still have energy to do my other routines that I love. YAY! I hope the cardio part will be just as satisfying as the sculpt!0
