Anyone from Charlotte, NC area?

We have a job offer from there, a pretty good one but don't know much about the area. Only been there twice. Any input is much appreciated. We have 4 children ranging from sophomore in high school, 8th grader and 2 preschoolers one of which will start kindergarten in the fall. Input on area schools is helpful too.

Yes I have done tons of web research just looking for some personal experiences.

I used to live outside that area before I moved to the Central Coast in cali! Can't offer anything about the schools or anything, but its a large area, and if you can live in a town outside Charlotte, (Like Mount Holly), it will be a bit cheaper than being in the city.

School wise I would recommend not living in Mecklenberg county if they are going to to go to public schools. I don't have kids but from what I hear they are usually not the best schools, there are some one offs but as a rule of thumb I hear not to have them in the schools there.
