Hi there
I've previously been very successful using Nutracheck. I loved the supportive forums and the easy to use food diary. I joined this site today after seeing it advertised in a magazine. The fact that it is free definitely appealed to me! I thought it would be inferior to NC but I have to say that so far I'm very impressed! Everything I've wanted to log in my diary today was pre-loaded into the database.
I have a stone and a half to lose. I'm easily led astray and chocolate is my downfall! I'm hoping that the tried and tested method of logging all my food and exercise and also using the forums will help me reach my goal.
Look forward to getting to know some new people out there!

Hi Busy Mum
I am a busy working mum and I always feel like I am last on the list of people I am taking care of ! MFP fits perfectly with busy lifestyle. I used to be a big chocolate addict.
After a recent trip to the dentist I decided to give up my daily Mocha latte (my mum has been wanting me to ages) but the sugar / chocolate hit every morning that I have had for years is not only bad for the weight but also the teeth. I am now enjoying small skim cappucinos; with the VERY occassional large mocha latte (skim milk though....lol)
I also combat my chocolate desire with a square of totally high quality dark chocolate (70 per cent cocoa) after dinner. The brand i eat is Lindt. I think its swiss. One fabulous square of high quality silky dark chocolate is only 50 calories and more satisfying than a whole cheap chocolate bar. In fact i don't even desire all those cheap chocolate bars, having become accustomed to only fine quality. Kind of like fresh ground coffee in a press compared to the instant powdered stuff. (I am also big on coffee).
Also the lindt squares are a thin large square (about an inch or so squared and but quite thin) so you eat it in a couple of bites rather than just throwing a small chunky square in your mouth.
I read about the satisfication of eating smaller amounts of high quality treats in the book French Women don't get Fat by Mireille Guiliano.
Anyways thats how i dealt with my chocolate addiction and it works fine. No Mars bars for me.
My biggest task now is trying to fit exercise in!
But we're here now and we've started and we're on the way :happy:0
