I have been under my calorie count all week and this weekend I am going to a bar and I love to have a few drink I was wondering can I use the calories I have had left throughout the days and use them? Or are they lost? I don"t want to use them all but a rarely go out and I would like to enjoy myself.

Ha! I thought you were going to ask (like so many do) "How can I use my extra calories?" And I was going to reply, "Beer!"
Seriously, I think you can go over one day with alcohol. Or two
I have made alcohol a regular part of my life, and I've been able to keep my weight off. Enjoy.0 -
That's what I plan on doing tonight. Go to the gym soon, burn off some calories, have room to work with later tonight. Enjoy the drinks!
I try and stay away from sugary and high-cal drinks. diet cokes & preferred alcohol, light beer, gin & tonic, etc. are things I usually stick with.0 -
You can totally use them0

I need a few drinks and as long as I dont go over board I think I should be fine.0 -
No they are not lost, but if you go way over your maintenance calories you may have a temporary bump in your weight. For that matter if you eat something high in sodium while you are out you might have the same thing. It will primarily be water weight, and will come off in a matter or 2-3 days of eating normal. At least that is what I have experienced.0

i do it often - i look at my weekly calories more than daily.
i never stay away from teh sugary drinks my bartender makes the yummiest!0 -
Vodka + diet coke only 52cals :-)
Gin and slimline tonic is pretty good too.
Go out, have fun and dont worry for one night! This has to be maintable for a good long time so you need to be able to go out and get a bit wild every so often.
Enjoy x x x0 -

Very true, I mean I can not imagine not being able to go out for drinks and keep having to count calories once in a while cant hurt me specially if I eat healthy through out the whole week and exercise.0 -
I'm not experienced enough here to know, but I've read numerous posts that advise we should look at our calorie intake and burn-off in terms of a week instead of a day. So that would suggest that you have some calories left over the week that you can use.
I'm working on just leveling out so my body knows what to expect. But then I read about the zig-zag technique and I think maybe I shouldn't be trying to get things predictable - maybe I should be changing things up to keep my body from getting into a pattern.
Ahh, so much to learn!0 -
