Well, we went on our surprise trip to Morro Bay, CA. We had a great time. I was going to eat everything because I am starting my detox today. I couldn't do it. When you sit down to order, it didn't sound good (the fried foods). I had great Cajun fish tacos. They were so good. It wasn't even breaded. I did share a cinnamon roll with my two kids. That was heaven. For dinner, I had a small cup of clam chowder and a nice salad. The next morning, we had breakfast at Starbucks. I had the reduce fat turkey bacon sandwich and shared it with my daughter. For lunch (Superbowl Sunday) we had black bean and ground turkey burritos. For dinner, chicken with green beans and caramelized onions.
I was surprised that I did as well as I did. I used to go to the coast and eat the garlic fries, the combo deep fried platter and the candy at the candy store. I didn't even crave it when we got there.
I am starting my detox today. I as so excited. I have my meals planned out for the next two day. My husband and my kids are doing it with me. The kids will eat the same dinner as us, and they will eat regular the rest of the day.
For breakfast, we had-turkey sausage-it is ground turkey breast, fresh sage, fresh thyme, diced apple and red onions, kosher salt, pepper and olive oil. It was very good.
lunch is an Asian salad, and dinner is chicken cacciatorie. I will also have 2 snacks which I have chose almonds. Lots of water. No eggs, dairy, gluten. No caffeine.
I will keep you all posted on the progress.

Here are some pictures from out trip.

It is really hard to go out to eat when you don't eat: white flour, fried foods, high sat fat, high calories, or, in my case, meat. Just try looking at a menu and getting something other than a salad without dressing (I'm blessed with not liking the stuff anyway) and no chicken or fish! I have a list of restaurants I can go to. Ok, it sounds like I'm complaining - yes and no. It's just a warning to those going on such a diet - that you really have to be careful about where you eat! and you have to be stubborn (comes to me naturally  ). I wish I had more options :grumble:

    Good luck with your detox.

Your pictures were awesome, I loved all the seals. You don't see that in Chicago!!!

Your kids are so cute and loving to each other.

If you guys get a chance, you need to go to Pismo and see the butterflies. Have you ever done that?? We are going camping at San Simeon state Park in March. If you can fit in the duffel bag, you are welcome to join us.

I may need to lose a couple more pounds before I fit into a duffel bag. The butterflies sound great. Have a wonderful time.
