MFP default calorie burn for strength training accuracy?

I've been using the default MFP calorie burn for "strength training (weight lifting, weight training)", pegs me at 225 calories per hour.

Who wants to wear a HRM strap while lifting weights, I figure?!

But today, I wanted to lift some weights, and then run... so I thought I'd test out the number by strapping on my HRM to track things. Turns out for my weight lifting session, I burned 438 calories!!

Can anyone speak to this? I mean, the HRM reading must be more accurate (granted, only as accurate as HRM's are in calculating calories), but surely it shouldn't be that far off? Is there something I'm not considering?

Thanks for any kind of feedback!

seems about right.. the MFP is way off.. a good workout is about 300-500.. so many factors tho.

I would trust the HRM, I have a Polar F7 and I live by it, even when doing weights. It is sooooooo much more accurate...but then that's just my opinion!
