Fake Birthday Online?

I noticed my profile listed me a year older, and it took me few minutes to remember that my fake "online" birthday I always use was last week.

Does anyone else use a standard fake birthday, standard fake picture, or anything like that online?

I used to use fake birth dates and locations when i was a teenager as i was scared of being found or something i dont know lol until it got to the point where i would forget my password and it would ask my birth date and i could never remember the fake one i put!

no more fakeness! i just make sure i put as much stuff online as i would tell a stranger on the street basically :)

No fake here. I use my real birthday , my real picture. I wouldn't want someone using my picture/info, so why should I be fake?

The only thing I use that's fake online is my Facebook name and birthday. It's even got a dummy email account. Fb privacy policies scare the **** out of me, so I keep it as private and simple as possible.

I've always used a fake birthday. It entertains me to no end.
I also use pen names on everything but my main accounts(ie, financial transactions).
I'm just paranoid like that =)

No, I put my real birthday for most sites. I am not too scared of people finding me or finding out stuff about me. Everythign I post online for the most part I have no shame about. I don't do anything hugely inappropriate.

I usually have a birth date for online profiles which is at least a few days off from my real one. Just depends on my mood. There is a lot of data collection and collation which takes place on the Internet, and I don't trust anyone's privacy policy.

I usually use a fake birthdate. There are a few sites (like facebook) where I use my real month and day, but a different year. I think using your real birthdate is a security risk and opens you up to identity theft.

I use my real birthday and first name but don't give out my last name. I'm pretty sure no one will tack me down among all the Kim's around...

Actually, I do often use a fake birthday - same year but different month/day. I *think* I used my real one here, but not sure. Confession time - I also no longer live in the city in my profile. It's close enough that I don't feel like I'm being too misleading, but my actual hometown is way too small for me to be comfortable listing.

I've honestly never thought about doing that. I just have a hard time lying- even about stupid, trivial stuff. It definitely makes sense, as the internet world doesn't need to know such things. Still, I just always end up spitting out the truth no matter what. I feel like Jim Carrey in "Liar, Liar" ...

And, ironically, I actually kick @ss at poker :glasses: Go figure:huh:
