SBF2 Reboot Boogaloo...May 20

Do we have an end date? Was it June 1st?

I'm trying not to walk (as exercise), and it's hard! I just want to see if that is what is bugging my knee. Yesterday: 2, 40 min bike rides & 30 min slow walk. Today: I might walk to the gym, do elliptical, and bike to yoga later. I would rather just walk here. The cool mornings end this weekend, so I better take advantage.

I need to start going up-side down more - so there isn't a repeat of last weekend's workshop at the next one (in August). I should practice handstand more as well. I think I'm taking the "weights" off my schedule though. With yoga 5x a week, I don't think I need it.

Cat in my face boogaloo!

Mary

I have my first session back with my trainer today for a workout. . .and I'm a little nervous. I'll report back later today.

And, Mary, I've decided to seriously lighten up my weights schedule. I think that once you get past basic yoga, it's a good strength workout. Also, I don't have any success in the more complicated poses (like arm balances) if I'm sore from weight training the day before. So, I'm going with the theory that one weight training session a week is enough for me. I've actually noticed more, not less muscle definition in this "yoga only" month, so that's proof enough for me.

    Take care.:flowerforyou:

    Good morning!
Mary, I hope your knee gets better soon. I can understand where you are at because my lower back is still bothering me. I think it's from sitting too much though.
Oh welcome back PSU! I was wondering what happened to you!
I was going to take today off, but I am having a high calorie day so I am going to have to do taebo this afternoon. I don't really have time but I am going to have to make time. I measured on Monday and this morning I noticed my waist feels smaller so I measured just to see and it says I've lost half an inch. I think I measured on Monday after breakfast so I am not sure if that made a difference, but I'll take it!
Today Alex gets to ride the horse again! I am more excited than he is, but it's just awesome how it worked out. So we are going there now. This afternoon is taebo, push ups, sit ups and squats. I hope I make it through all that. I may take tomorrow off since I will be walking at the stores.
Have a great day! Let us know how your session goes V!

Ok, remember a couple of weeks ago when I said that Alex's PT called and said that they had $1000 come in so he could keep riding? Well, I was blown away once again today. The guy who lost his mom came up to me while Alex was riding and said that they have gotten enough money to keep Alex riding for at least a full year!!!! Unbelievable! That's over $4000 dollars! He is wanting me to write up a letter about Alex's story to send to the people donating so they will know how the therapy center is helping him, and hopefully they will donate more money to the center. Of course I will write a letter! It means I get to brag about my son! I am really just speechless about the whole thing. I am so grateful!
I just had to share that with you all.

Just got back. Managed to do about 20 minutes of hardcore circuits. Felt like I'd never worked out before in my life. (felt very "pukey", if you catch my meaning. . .) Wow. My heart rate still recovers really quickly, so that's good. I thank the Bikram for that. I know that my HR shoots up in some poses (balances, for example) and then immediately goes back down.

On the upside, my floorwork (core and arms) was still really strong, and my trainer (who is a dancer) commented on my "lines". . .so it's not my imagination that I feel longer, I look it, too.

    Yay!

    Vaguely normal boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

MM, that is awesome about Alex.

Congrats on those lines V! If there was a whistlin' smiley I'd insert it here!

I managed to get my sit ups, push ups, and squats done, but 15 minutes into Taebo I started having stomach cramps. I think I will rethink my dinner to something lighter, like toast or cereal. It seems my body is doing it's own detox over the last few days. I guess that's a good thing. Sorry if TMI.
Alex didn't take a nap and he's being very autistic today. I need to find something productive for him to do.

MM, that is amazing news. V, glad you were able to work out today, and had an unexpected bonus from your yoga month. Now don't overdo it! Mary, I hope your knee improves. I keep going really gingerly on mine and seems to be hanging in there.

It's a beautiful day today - I was planning to do elliptical at the gym, but maybe I can just go walking at the park or something. And then pushups. I am still sore from running/pushups two days ago (I took yesterday off except for walking).

Man, pushups are kicking my butt again. I am back on week 2 with my improved form (plank style, all the way to the floor), and it is SO HARD. I just can't believe I'm still struggling so much, considering how long I've been working on them. But this is definite proof that the way I was doing them before does not work all the muscles that I am working now - my chest and abs are feeling it a lot more now, and my arms are, too.

    Sheesh. :ohwell:
