I saw myself in the mirror at the gym and met someone new

"It feels as if I am not just listening to my body but now having a two way conversation. Like I am now living with my new best friend and not my arch enemy!"

I said it in my blog and it sounded so good to me I just wanted to say it here. I don't share a lot, but I hope this helps someone out there to connect with yourself or see a new perspective or to look forward to your next milestone.

I was doing sit-ups/ crunches. No biggy, I'm new & only been working out for three weeks or so in the gym. But the bench I was using was facing a mirror and every time I came up for a crunch I saw myself. Every time I went down I felt weak, every time I came up I wanted to do it again..... and I did.
I did so many crunches I lost count. I felt my muscles as they contracted just to make sure I was doing them right.
I got so excited and can't wait to get to the gym and do it again!

I hope you each get an emotional moment like I did that makes you love yourself- either for the first time or again & again!

Good luck to you all !

Love your quote about now living with my new best friend. I have also had to re-introduce myself to my body and love not being embarrassed by it anymore. Congratulations on your accomplishments so far, I know it is not easy being a busy mom and winning at this weightloss thing!

I've experienced that moment. I am 35, and I've always been active, But i've never been in great shape. I have very long legs (38") But i have always despised them..nomatter what size i was there was never really any muscle tone to them..Now i can say i am beginning to love them. That is something i thought i would never say. I actually look forward to showing them off now. It kinda makes me teary eyed to type that.

    We're gettin there! :)

Gratz on reaching that point, I know how you feel, I've been over well over 200 for many (36) years and am very close to wonderland, I see myself in a mirror and I'm like, who's that, lol.

Fantastic! Making ourselves smile on this journey is SO important!

Btw, the lighting in my gym sucks and, in my opinion, accentuates every bit of flab that I still wanna get rid of....no accident on their part, I am sure!
