Small steps hopefully leading to bigger steps

Hi
I just wanted to share a little victory I experienced today. I'm one of those people that has to clear their plate (even if I don't actually like the food), possibly due to having it ingrained in me as a child. But today I was tucking into baked cod and wholewheat pasta, started to feel full and actually left food on my plate. To most people this is probably nothing, but to me it's a victory as it means I'm actually starting to learn the signals that I've had enough to eat.

that is an awesome thing, that you're listening to your body. I really try to use those words with my kids... "are you hungry, are you feeling full", not "doesn't this taste good, do you want more." These are all just habits, and can be changed. Keep up the good work!!!0

that is awesome, i'm so proud of you. as yourself i was also trained to eat everything on my plate and now to deprogram myself, one day at a time. with one step at a time.0
