whey protein shakes

I noticed it said something on the tub about consuming within a few hours, is there no way to make a batch and put it in the fridge or won't that work? also what does everyone like to mix with it? i stupidly bought a strawberry one, but didn't like the taste after a while it was a bit much so now i mix in blackcurrant juice (with calcium and vit c), milk, sweetener, water and sometimes diet lemonade.

also can you get carrot juice? i noticed carrots have a **** load of vit a in, though would probably taste rank if I put that in with the above i'm guessing. I suppose theres always a mixer!

Can you throw in some Greek yogurt in there? MAD protein, and it may taste like Strawberry cheesecake...especially if you have it with ground flax seed (great omega's). In Canada, all of our grocery stores carry Carrot Juice. It's in the International section of our stores, with some of the Indian or sometimes Caribbean stuff.

You could blend your strawberry flavored one with some banana and ice cubes? that would taste good im sure.

or mix it with some Almond milk maybe?

Maybe a little bit of the strawberry powder mixed with some cocoa powder..i know chocolate and strawberry go well with each other...

    just a suggestion :)
  • My goto shake, chocolate protein powder, 1/5 of a banana, and 8 ounces of coconut milk. Also good with a tablespooon (or two) of some nut butter if you need the extra calories. Really like chocolate? Add a teaspoon of cocoa powder for the chocolate richness without all the calories.

i bought strawberry once. its good for making berry smoothies but im much happier with the vanilla now because it gives me more options.

i like to add ice, greek yogurt and vanilla soymilk (unsweetened), egg whites as a base.

other things i like to add to make different flavors:

    semi sweet chocolate chips
    pb
    cinnamon
    pumpkin
    fruit
  • I use a scoop of vanilla whey protein and 8 oz of silk unsweetened almond milk and 1 cup frozen strawberries. Toss in the magic bullet and blend. Awesome protein ice cream.

I do something like this! After a long workout, I'll add these to my blender bottle, shake, and enjoy:

1-2 scoops whole foods chocolate whey protein powder
1 cup skim or soy milk
1 tablespoon Starbucks via instant coffee
    1/2 cup cold water

    It tastes like a dream!

I agree with this one! Strawberry flavour with banana, chocolate (ie cocoa powder) and milk/soy/almond/yogurt sounds delicious! Or could you add lots of real strawberries (fresh or frozen) to the mix with some ice cubes for a more authentic taste? GL

I find a cheap way to change the flavor is to add extracts and flavorings. Currently I have Optimum nutrition Vanilla Ice cream which isn't all that great, I won't buy it again. But A little coconut flavoring, and some cinnamon and I'm good.
