Story so far....I got my new Fitbit about a wee kago and love it but if I have it on my person or in the car while driving the car to the Park, it clocks up steps I haven't done. ....Is there any way to freeze or pause the clock / Fitbit while driving until I reach the park.
Thanks .

  • Yeah, I drove a 2 hour trip and remember'd the step number when I left the house and looked at it again when I stopped the car and Fitbit was up 1500 steps. I had it in the car not on my person.

did you try contacting fitbit about it? see what they say. thats weird because even though your driving your person isnt moving. you sit through the whole trip.

What you need to do is make note of what time you get in the car and then remember how long you were driving, then you log the activity on the fitbit website as "Automobile or light truck driving". It will then discount any steps that were perceived during that time period.

3 years on and this post has been *so* useful to me!

My new Fitbit Surge had been coping very, very well with commuting on the train or driving a car. But it counted a few hundred steps for my motorcycle journey this morning. Still infinitely better than the ridiculous Jawbone Up24 that I had, but I wanted to see if I could adjust it somehow.

And the advice in this post has worked perfectly!!

    THANK YOU
